Tutorial One: Selection

Now, these are the tutorial that were taught by Madam Lydia. Let's begin!
So this is the image that used to practice the selection tools.
The Zoom tool is selected to view the image of the tomato. Then, choose the Quick Selection tool to select the entire tomato.
By using the Move tool drag the selected tomato image to the cutting board.
Go to Select and choose Deselect to move on to the next step :) Now, zoom in to the bowl of olives image to and select the image using the Elliptical Marquee tool hidden under the Rectangular Marquee tool. In this step, the spacebar is use to move the selected area and release the spacebar to resize the selection.
Now, drag the selected image to the cutting board using the Move tool.
The next step is to select the salad image. The Elliptical Marquee tool is also used in this step but tips for selecting a perfect circle press the Shift key as you drag to select the entire salad image. Like this:
Drag it the to the cutting board like usual. To change the original color of the salad image to the negative color of itself, go to Image --> Adjustments --> Invert.
And this is what I got.
Next is to duplicate the inverted salad image. The easiest way to duplicate this image is hold the Alt key as you drag the image.
To enlarge the image of the duplicated salad image, select the Scale option as shown below.
Then, duplicate the salad image again by repeating the same step.
Now, we're done with the salad image and we shall proceed to the last image which is the lettuce. By using the Rectangular Marquee tool select an area wide enough to cover the whole lettuce image. Then, select the Magic Wand too hidden under the Quick Selection tool. Make sure to select the Subtract From the Selection button in the options bar. This settings will make sure that anything that is selected will be subtracted from the white background that is selected. Finally, this is what I got and the lettuce image is moved to the cutting board.

That's it!
